Intermediate Data Engineering Advisor — Healthcare Analytics

Designs data pipelines, integrations, and analytics architectures for healthcare data at Onepoint. Supports governance, security, and deployments across Microsoft Fabric and Azure.

Description

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Analyze data sources, define ETL/ELT integration logic, and apply established design patterns.
  • Develop efficient Microsoft Fabric workflows and organize data with suitable models.
  • Add data quality controls and support unit and integration testing.
  • Protect the integration, security, and confidentiality of clinical and administrative data.
  • Manage code, traceability, and deployments with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Document solutions, share expertise, and help put data products into operation.
  • Work with architecture, security, operations, and stakeholder teams.
  • Set integration and interoperability strategies spanning source systems, Microsoft Fabric, and analytics products.
  • Design event-driven and metadata-driven integration patterns for batch and near-real-time processing.
  • Set rules for data movement, transformation, traceability, reconciliation, and error handling.
  • Design technical governance, data classification, lineage, and access controls.
  • Align solutions with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Microsoft Purview, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD standards.
  • Create data-flow models, data contracts, technical decisions, standards, and integration templates.
  • Assess dependencies among clinical and administrative sources and recommend sustainable integration approaches.
  • Review development teams’ proposed solutions for end-to-end consistency.
  • Evaluate performance, resilience, scalability, and operational readiness.
  • Help teams apply strategic direction and resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements

  • Speak and write French fluently.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, management, or a related field.
  • Provide MIFI equivalency for any diploma or degree earned outside Quebec.
  • Hold a specialized certification from a recognized authority in information technology.
  • Have five years of data engineering experience.
  • Have more than four years of business intelligence experience, including three years of data engineering in Quebec’s healthcare network.
  • Have one year of experience with Fabric or Databricks.
  • Have actively contributed to at least two projects developing analytics solutions that integrate provincial clinical information systems and healthcare facilities, such as Clinibase, SIURGE, Med-urge, BDCU, MED-ECHO, Opera, SIMASS, or SILP.
  • Use Git/GitHub, SQL, Python, and Power BI.
  • Know Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Direct Lake, pipelines, and notebooks, as well as Spark environments.
  • Be proficient in T-SQL, DAX, and JSON.
  • Know Azure platforms and tools such as Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Data Factory, and governance and metadata tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada.
