Head of Technology Portfolio Operating Office at TD (Onsite)

Lead technology portfolio governance, financial management, risk oversight, and complex program delivery for TD. Manage executives, teams, resources, and portfolio execution across a major financial institution.

Description

  • Build operating structures, governance models, partnerships, and management practices for technology executives and business partners
  • Align demand, investment, workforce, capacity, delivery, and risk across the portfolio
  • Provide transparent reporting and decision support for strategic tradeoffs
  • Oversee technology portfolios subject to substantial regulatory oversight
  • Lead the portfolio management office for a key business segment or corporate function
  • Own overall portfolio financial management
  • Oversee multiple concurrent, highly complex IT projects and programs, including Tier 1 initiatives
  • Lead Tier 1 project or program delivery when needed
  • Directly manage Senior Program Directors and Senior Project Managers
  • Provide strategic direction on escalated portfolio, regulatory, and governance matters
  • Coordinate project and program managers and delivery resources across lines of business
  • Develop employees and strengthen sustainable delivery capabilities
  • Advise project teams, program resources, and business partners
  • Coach, lead, mentor, and evaluate team members
  • Oversee projects, programs, vendors, project managers, and consultants across multiple businesses
  • Assign resources across the technology portfolio
  • Lead succession planning and talent pipeline development
  • Promote project management training initiatives
  • Create stretch assignments and on-the-job development opportunities
  • Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree
  • Project management certification
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Broad understanding of project management methods, procedures, and principles
  • Experience tracking, forecasting, and managing project budgets
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Strong facilitation capability
  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain talent
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strategic perspective and strong business judgment
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex change from concept through execution
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Sound judgment when deciding which issues require escalation and which can be resolved independently
