Financial Intelligence Analyst

Investigate suspicious activity and financial crime risks at Associated Bank. Analyze transactions, prepare suspicious activity reports, and support anti-money laundering compliance and risk management.

Description

  • Investigate alerts, referrals, and customer activity for potential financial crime risks.
  • Analyze customer and transaction data to identify unusual behavior, emerging trends, and shifts in risk profiles.
  • Assess suspicious activity and determine whether to escalate, refer, or resolve each case.
  • Record investigation results and write detailed case narratives.
  • Complete regulatory reporting, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when warranted.
  • Work with internal teams on investigations, inquiries, and complex issues.
  • Track trends, compile metrics, and contribute to reporting, testing, and process improvements.
  • Keep current on financial crime, anti-money laundering (AML), and regulatory requirements through continued learning.
  • Work one of these schedules: Monday–Friday first shift, Tuesday–Saturday first shift, or Monday–Friday second shift.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in risk management, compliance, audit, banking, business, law enforcement, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, banking, financial services, law enforcement, or a related area.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and maintain thorough documentation.
  • New hires must pass a background check.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in investigations, regulatory reporting, or financial crime analysis is preferred.
  • Must follow applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
