Communications Manager – Finning Canada (Edmonton Hybrid)

Lead Finning Canada’s internal, external, and crisis communications programs. Shape stories and leadership messaging for employees, executives, customers, and public audiences.

Description

  • Develop and execute integrated internal, external, and issues/crisis communications strategies aligned with Finning Canada’s business priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization, engage frontline teams and leaders, and provide discreet, confident executive counsel.
  • Strengthen leadership communications with clear, timely, and action-oriented messaging.
  • Identify, report, and produce stories highlighting employees, customers, and organizational impact across multiple channels.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing communications team by setting priorities, coaching talent, and maintaining strong execution standards.
  • Partner with global communications colleagues to exchange best practices and align regional approaches.

Requirements

  • Bring 8–10 years of progressive journalism or communications experience across areas such as internal and external communications, business reporting, marketing, crisis communications, or change management.
  • Have at least four years of experience working directly with senior leaders in a large organization to develop and implement communications strategies.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field; a specialized communications or journalism diploma with relevant experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong journalism foundation and mindset.
  • Show exceptional curiosity, interviewing ability, writing, and editing skills.
  • Translate complex topics clearly and credibly for varied audiences, from unionized frontline employees to senior executives.
  • Apply strategic perspective and composed judgment in complex or sensitive situations.
  • Be available for some travel.
