AVP, Management Liability Actuary (Hybrid)

Lead actuarial strategy for Management Liability, including pricing, reserving, profitability, and rate filings at IAT Insurance Group. This hybrid role partners with underwriting, claims, IT, and senior leadership on products and business planning.

Description

  • Lead actuarial activities for the Management Liability business
  • Provide actuarial expertise across EPLI, Crime, and D&O coverages
  • Perform pricing and reserving analyses
  • Maintain rates and support state-specific rate filings
  • Coordinate annual planning processes
  • Support strategic business decisions
  • Build tools to measure and track Management Liability profitability
  • Analyze claim frequency and severity trends
  • Produce reports on rates, actions taken, retention, and new business growth
  • Maintain a capital allocation model for risk-adjusted business-unit performance
  • Analyze data and communicate findings across the organization
  • Estimate and recommend financial statement loss reserves
  • Set product rates
  • Create and maintain rate-making templates
  • Partner with underwriting, claims, IT, and senior management on product development and improvement
  • Evaluate reinsurance purchase options from an economic perspective
  • Supervise or matrix-manage analytics professionals as needed
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of related professional experience
  • Strong background in commercial property and casualty insurance
  • Familiarity with standard Management Liability forms and rules
  • Self-motivation and a results-oriented approach
  • Track record of achieving goals
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Broad knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Experience training staff on the job or through management
  • Experience working with direct reports and broader actuarial and business intelligence teams
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • FCAS preferred but not required
