Admin Nursing Coordinator (House Supervisor) – Full-Time Nights

Serve as the overnight House Supervisor coordinating nursing staffing, patient care, emergencies, and hospital operations for Capital Health. Support quality care across the organization’s regional healthcare network.

Description

  • Help staff identify clinical and administrative priorities
  • Communicate with external agencies and media in line with public relations guidelines
  • Follow emergency preparedness plans and department-specific procedures
  • Notify the administrator on call about unusual activity and emergencies
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring appropriate responses, actions, and documentation
  • Communicate and distribute information and direction throughout the shift
  • Assess clinical and administrative solutions with the nurse manager and nursing team
  • Coordinate available resources and initiate and complete action plans
  • Coordinate nursing staff activities throughout the shift
  • Manage staffing coordination and review staffing patterns for the following shift
  • Advise nurse managers and directors on staffing and scheduling matters
  • Conduct hospital rounds to evaluate nursing care quality and unit needs
  • Escalate concerns to the appropriate staff and address patient concerns
  • Respond to emergencies and codes, coordinating activities under CH policies and procedures
  • Make operational decisions according to the Nurse Practice Act, nursing code, New Jersey and federal requirements, OSHA, and CHS policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Identify staff concerns, counsel employees, and address grievances
  • Work with the nurse manager to oversee new employees
  • Complete additional duties as assigned and adjust to changing departmental needs

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • TNCC certification required within six months of hire for employees working at the RMC campus
  • Five years of registered nursing experience
  • Two years of leadership experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Coordinator, Supervisor, Team Lead, or Charge Nurse
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, or obtain it within six months of hire
  • Registered Nurse licensure in New Jersey
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification, or obtain it by the end of orientation
  • Eight hours of stroke-related continuing nursing education contact hours annually
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, conflict-resolution, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to satisfy stated physical demands, sensory requirements, and occupational exposure conditions
