Lead analytics for Elsevier Health’s content operations, building dashboards and KPIs to improve publishing workflows. Apply advanced analysis to support reliable, data-informed delivery of healthcare information.

- Own analytics projects from defining objectives and hypotheses through delivery.
- Advise senior stakeholders and support decisions with evidence.
- Find bottlenecks in content journeys, including defects, rework, delays, supplier variation, and workload imbalances.
- Create reports, dashboards, BI structures, KPI frameworks, and trend and performance analyses.
- Set KPI logic, filters, segmentation, benchmarking methods, and adoption plans.
- Publish reliable dashboards with Data Management for Operations users and governance forums.
- Assess content-flow throughput, cycle times, handoffs, exceptions, rework, defects, supplier performance, productivity, capacity, and workload distribution.
- Combine large datasets from multiple systems using SQL and analytics tools.
- Translate business needs into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Use trend decomposition, segmentation, cohort analysis, anomaly detection, hypothesis testing, scenario modelling, predictive analytics, machine learning, and NLP as appropriate.
- Assess data quality and address reporting gaps and discrepancies.
- Keep metric definitions consistent across dashboards and stakeholder reports.
- Document data definitions, KPI logic, reporting updates, refresh schedules, and limitations.
- Coach junior analysts, reporting champions, and business users.
- Lead medium-sized and tactical analytics projects and contribute to international analytics and BI programs.
- Track project success measures, support planning and resourcing, enable automation, and represent analytics in governance discussions.

- A bachelor’s degree is required; a quantitative field such as economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, or engineering is preferred.
- Typically 5–8 years of experience in data or business analytics.
- Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets.
- High proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Experience gathering requirements and managing stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical ability with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for nontechnical audiences.
- Strong documentation practices.
- Exposure to statistical modelling and the ability to choose suitable techniques.
- Databricks experience is preferred.
- Python and/or Scala experience is desirable but not essential.
- Snowflake experience is an advantage.
- Experience with KNIME or similar tools.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and modern analytics architectures.
- Publishing operations and content-flow experience is preferred; experience in a comparable process-intensive operations domain is also relevant.
- Experience with large, complex datasets, data integration, data engineering concepts, big data platforms, and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of predictive analytics, basic machine learning applications, and relevant NLP use cases.
- Ability to coach junior analysts and support business users.
- Ability to lead medium-sized and tactical analytics projects with minimal oversight.
