Manage outstanding insurance receivables, denials, and appeals
Conduct insurance and patient billing follow-up to support timely, accurate payment
Complete duties in line with company standards and applicable state and federal requirements
Contact patients, hospitals, insurers, facilities, and attorneys to investigate claims and verify insurance details
Check with insurance carriers regarding overdue account status
Achieve or surpass established productivity and quality targets
Record account activity in the claims processing system
Contact patients to confirm and follow up on insurance coverage
Reduce aging receivables by consistently pursuing unpaid claims
Review collection accounts before they are referred to an external agency
Handle special projects assigned by the Manager
Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA
Investigate and resolve complex accounts and escalated issues
Conduct quality reviews of assigned claims
Follow company attendance requirements
Complete other assigned responsibilities

Талаптар

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Associate degree is preferred
At least two years of experience in healthcare claims processing, billing, or accounts receivable
Practical experience preparing and submitting insurance appeals, including knowledge of payer denial codes and timely filing limits
Working knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and general medical terminology
EMS billing experience is strongly preferred; experience in other medical specialties may be considered
Proficiency with web-based tools, billing software, and payer portals
Previous customer service experience
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with team members
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and time-management abilities
Strong investigative and research capabilities for resolving complex billing issues
Effective critical-thinking and analytical skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision
Ability to manage the full role independently, including goals and business practices, while working remotely
Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, HIPAA, and company standards is required
