Systems Administrator, Hybrid Cloud and AI Infrastructure – Bangalore
Administer Lenovo’s on-site Bangalore lab infrastructure across hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, NVIDIA GPU platforms, networking, compute, storage, and virtualization.
Description
- Lead deployment, support, and administration of hybrid cloud and AI infrastructure for Lenovo’s Bangalore lab
- Manage lab networking, physical and virtual compute, block and file storage, and operating systems
- Administer VMware environments using vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
- Support hybrid-cloud integration and Microsoft Azure workloads extending the Bangalore lab
- Deploy and maintain Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure
- Operate Red Hat OpenShift container platform environments
- Deploy and manage Docker container runtimes
- Own production Kubernetes operations, including cluster administration, RBAC, networking, and version upgrades
- Manage NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, InfiniBand, Run:AI, and ClearML across the Bangalore GPU infrastructure
- Verify lab configurations against NVIDIA reference architecture and Lenovo Validated Design requirements
- Deliver on-site technical support for capital equipment requested by the Bangalore Professional Services/LMS team
- Provide daily administration, support, and engineering across the physical lab’s network, compute, and storage layers
- Perform rack-and-stack work, structured cabling, imaging, and smart-hands support for lab hardware
- Provide secondary technical support for NVIDIA technology-stack equipment hosted in Morrisville
- Coordinate remotely with Morrisville infrastructure staff on standards, escalations, and cross-site incident response
- Maintain effective working relationships with NVIDIA field contacts
Requirements
- At least four years of systems administration experience spanning networking, compute, storage, and operating systems, with specialization in GPU or AI infrastructure
- Practical experience with platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, Microsoft Azure, Nutanix HCI, or Red Hat OpenShift
- NVIDIA NCP-AI certification or an equivalent Microsoft or Red Hat OpenShift certification
- Production Kubernetes administration experience covering cluster operations, RBAC, networking, and version upgrades
- Hands-on experience managing Docker container runtimes
- Experience administering NVIDIA drivers and the CUDA toolkit
- Willingness to perform hands-on hardware tasks, including rack-and-stack, structured cabling, and smart-hands support
- Availability to take ownership of after-hours incidents in a shared, multi-team infrastructure environment
- Ability to serve as the senior on-site infrastructure owner in Bangalore while coordinating with the Morrisville team across a significant time-zone difference
- Physical on-site presence in Bangalore is required; remote work from another location is not supported
- Preferred: experience supporting a multi-tenant shared lab used by distributed teams
- Preferred: familiarity with DCIM, IPAM, or monitoring tools comparable to Hyperview, BlueCat/Infoblox, or NVIDIA DCGM
- Preferred: familiarity with InfiniBand fabric in multi-node GPU environments
- Preferred: experience with Run:AI, ClearML, or a comparable GPU orchestration and MLOps platform
