Software Engineering Manager, Hogan Core Banking Platform – U.S. Bank

Lead U.S. Bank’s Hogan core banking engineering teams in a hybrid role focused on platform modernization, production support, and reliable delivery of mission-critical banking services.

Description

  • Lead and develop engineers supporting Hogan-based core banking applications
  • Direct application development, enhancements, integrations, and production support across the Hogan ecosystem
  • Work with business leaders, product owners, and technology stakeholders to turn banking needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Define engineering standards, development practices, operating processes, and quality controls
  • Maintain application stability while overseeing incident response, problem resolution, and ongoing service improvements
  • Lead modernization initiatives spanning architecture, automation, operational efficiency, and maintainability
  • Coordinate with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams
  • Oversee delivery planning, staffing, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications
  • Build a culture centered on accountability and innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
  • At least five years leading software engineering teams
  • Extensive experience supporting and leading technology teams in a Hogan core banking environment
  • Strong knowledge of core banking systems, banking operations, customer servicing, deposits, lending, payments, and financial services technology
  • Experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IBM z/OS mainframe environments
  • Track record leading teams responsible for large-scale, highly available, mission-critical applications
  • Experience delivering modernization, integration, and platform transformation initiatives in regulated environments
  • Strong command of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automation, application lifecycle management, and software engineering practices
  • Ability to build effective partnerships with business stakeholders, architects, operations teams, and executive leaders
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, strategic planning, and talent development capabilities
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location at least three days per week
  • Ability to follow U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including its Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and applicable workplace conduct and safety policies
