Description

  • Handle major, complex, and standard insurance losses.
  • Train claims employees and contribute to claims training programs and agents’ career schools.
  • Support reinspections, field rides, file reviews, authority requests, and technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with District Managers, agency staff, Team Leaders, Supervisors, and management.
  • Complete required procedures and investigations for complex claims.
  • Support catastrophe claims across the assigned operating territory.
  • Manage litigated specialty files while controlling legal expenses.
  • Participate in litigation conferences, arbitration hearings, and trials when needed.
  • Assess Claims Office operations for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Identify adverse trends and procedural deviations and provide recommendations.
  • Recommend monetary claims authority limits for supervisors and field personnel.
  • Assess the technical capabilities of Claims Representatives and Claims Associates.
  • Advise claims offices on vendor relationships and repair program administration.
  • Investigate claims, verify coverage, determine liability, assess damages, provide status updates, and negotiate settlements.
  • Inspect damaged property and vehicles and estimate repair or replacement costs.
  • Assess subrogation opportunities and initiate salvage sales.
  • Report theft, fraud, and arson losses to relevant state and industry agencies.
  • Represent the company professionally while maintaining effective relationships with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, police and fire departments, investigators, attorneys, experts, and medical professionals.
  • Promote workplace safety and follow company safety and ergonomic standards.
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Completed or actively pursuing a major insurance designation or insurance-related coursework.
  • External applicants need at least four years of prior claims experience.
  • Successfully complete the Senior General Adjuster prerequisites, proficiencies, and required examinations based on the assigned unit.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be bondable.
  • English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Ability to live within the selected territory and travel regularly throughout the assigned coverage area.
  • Ability to travel for catastrophe response assignments.
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including bending, pulling, sorting, pushing, climbing, reaching, standing, keyboarding, walking, kneeling, and seeing.
  • Ability to carry up to 20 pounds.
