Environmental Compliance Specialist I - Riverside Hybrid

Support Dudek’s environmental compliance and construction stormwater programs across California. Conduct field inspections, regulatory research, environmental data collection, and technical reporting.

Description

  • Interpret environmental regulations and policies to support project compliance
  • Assist with permit applications, compliance reports, and environmental documentation
  • Help ensure adherence to federal, state, and local requirements, including NEPA, CEQA, CWA, and CAA
  • Perform site visits and field assessments to evaluate environmental conditions and regulatory compliance
  • Collect and assess air, water, and soil samples and quality data
  • Support erosion control, stormwater management, and other environmental protection best management practices
  • Complete routine storm-event and post-storm inspections for SWPPP, mapping, and permit compliance
  • Investigate site compliance concerns and BMP deficiencies
  • Develop technical reports, impact assessments, compliance audits, monitoring records, inspection logs, and field notes
  • Assist with planning and tracking environmental impact mitigation measures
  • Work with regulatory agencies, project managers, construction staff, clients, and field teams
  • Contribute regulatory guidance during meetings and project discussions
  • Address compliance questions and project-related needs
  • Monitor changes in environmental policy, industry developments, and best practices
  • Pursue professional development and mentorship opportunities

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in environmental compliance, stormwater inspections, regulatory assessments, or permitting
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related life sciences discipline
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to perform fieldwork and walk across challenging terrain
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Personal automobile liability insurance active by the first day of employment
  • Working knowledge of environmental laws and regulations
  • Strong technical writing and analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • GIS or environmental modeling experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Best Management Practices (BMP) and NPDES regulations
  • Familiarity with construction sites and project plans
  • Access to a 4WD vehicle for inspections is preferred but not required
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • U.S. work authorization
