Senior Engineering Manager, Product Delivery

Lead Jira-based software delivery across internal engineering teams and offshore vendors, coordinating product execution and regulated-data operations. Support REE Medical’s healthcare technology programs through delivery planning, team leadership, and release management.

Description

  • Translate business requests into Jira epics, stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Confirm engineering requirements are complete, estimated, and understood before sprint commitments.
  • Turn business goals into actionable specifications with product owners, architects, and business analysts.
  • Keep backlogs prioritized across active product streams.
  • Coordinate design handoffs and confirm UI/UX specifications, wireframes, and data models can be implemented.
  • Lead agile ceremonies for internal staff and vendor teams.
  • Track sprint velocity, burndown, and team capacity.
  • Manage releases, go/no-go decisions, QA acceptance, and production readiness.
  • Surface blockers early and escalate schedule risks.
  • Maintain delivery dashboards and report weekly progress to the CIO.
  • Manage production change controls, approvals, test evidence, and Jira-to-deployment traceability.
  • Improve delivery practices using retrospectives, metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead about five internal engineers across web applications, data engineering, Salesforce, and QA.
  • Conduct performance reviews, one-to-ones, and career development planning.
  • Recruit and onboard engineering hires.
  • Build a culture of ownership, craft, and accountability.
  • Manage daily delivery with the primary offshore development partner.
  • Hold vendors to sprint commitments, quality standards, and communication expectations.
  • Monitor vendor velocity, address underperformance, and escalate commercial issues to the CIO.
  • Coordinate onboarding for additional staff-augmentation engineers.
  • Act as the main engineering contact for business stakeholders, product owners, and the CIO.
  • Work with architecture partners on design choices and delivery feasibility.
  • Coordinate deployment dependencies and environment readiness with IT Operations.
  • Represent engineering capacity and delivery feasibility in strategic planning.

Requirements

  • At least five years in software engineering or engineering management.
  • At least two years of direct engineering team management.
  • Experience managing offshore or vendor teams alongside internal employees.
  • Strong Jira skills and agile process expertise.
  • Experience maintaining prioritized backlogs, leading sprint ceremonies, and using Jira to manage work.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or another regulated industry.
  • Understanding of sensitive data handling and audit trails.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to translate between business stakeholders and engineers.
  • Able to write clear acceptance criteria and facilitate effective meetings.
  • Experience in organizations with 50–500 employees.
  • Salesforce development knowledge, including Experience Cloud, Apex, and LWC, preferred.
  • AWS knowledge, especially web application hosting, serverless architectures, and compliant infrastructure, preferred.
  • Healthcare technology experience with EHR integrations, patient portals, provider tools, or care coordination platforms, preferred.
  • Platform migration or modernization experience, preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US as a full-time employee.
  • Must be willing to work without visa sponsorship.
