Payroll Advisor – Illinois Remote

Process accurate biweekly payroll and resolve employee pay questions for Glanbia, a global nutrition brands and ingredients company.

Description

  • Run biweekly payroll for assigned employee groups, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely pay.
  • Check payroll inputs, audits, and exception reports, resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
  • Maintain payroll system records, including time and attendance settings, banking details, tax elections, earnings, and deductions.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies from employees, managers, HR, and external providers.
  • Handle payroll transactions for hires, terminations, leave, compensation changes, and other employee lifecycle events.
  • Follow payroll laws, tax rules, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Work with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other teams to support payroll operations and keep records accurate.
  • Support payroll reconciliations, audits, reports, and quarter-end and year-end processes.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in business, accounting, human resources, or a related area, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in payroll administration, payroll processing, or a related operations role
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, time and attendance systems, and payroll legislation
  • Careful attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using payroll and HRIS systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle competing priorities while preserving accuracy and confidentiality
