Front Desk Receptionist - Salisbury, MD (Onsite)

Support patient intake and front-office operations for United Urology Group, including payments, records, scheduling, referrals, and follow-up procedures. Provide multi-site office support while helping patients navigate registration and clinical administration.

Description

  • Deliver excellent service to patients and staff
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Represent the practice with a welcoming and professional first impression
  • Schedule appointments and physician-directed testing
  • Prepare required paperwork for each day’s appointments
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances at check-in and record payments in Practice Management
  • Verify and enter patient demographic and clinical information in Practice Management and the EHR
  • Scan driver’s licenses and insurance cards into Ntierprise
  • Secure, scan, and associate required referrals with appointments in Practice Management
  • Reconcile daily payment batches and submit them to the Site Manager
  • Arrange follow-up procedures and coordinate cases at local ambulatory surgery centers
  • Help patients use the Phreesia registration system
  • Travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region when required

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • At least two years of front-office experience, preferably in a medical environment
  • One to two years of customer-service experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and readiness to learn
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 codes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer software and database systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfort asking patients appropriate probing questions
  • Caring, compassionate, and patient approach
  • Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Strong multitasking and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute
  • Ability to travel to other sites as needed
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
