Field Service Technician, Illinois

Description

  • Manage customer service and support for clients.
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-speed cash-handling equipment independently.
  • Track parts and tools.
  • Keep up with technical and functional changes to GLORY equipment.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Diagnose system faults and carry out repairs.
  • Update customers on progress during maintenance and system downtime.
  • Install machines and complete Engineering Change Notices, system upgrades, and hardware and software upgrades.
  • Follow safety policies and guidelines.
  • Complete required Environmental Health and Safety training.
  • Promptly report job-site accidents involving injury or property damage.
  • Report to the District Service Manager.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites in Marion and nearby areas.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of professional studies in electromechanics or electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Related certifications in mechanics, electronics, automation, or data processing are preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, network navigation, and email.
  • Logical troubleshooting skills, including isolating faults to the circuit-board or component level.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC power distribution and digital and analog circuitry.
  • Experience repairing high-speed paper-handling machines is preferred; ATM or copier repair experience is also preferred.
  • Three to five years of technical field service repair experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and frequently kneel, bend, squat, sit, and twist.
  • Ability to work at customer sites such as financial institutions, casinos, truck stops, recreational parks, and retail stores.
  • Availability to work rotating weekends and/or holidays.
  • Availability for an on-call rotation, typically every three to five weeks, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to drive to customer sites during working hours.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally outside the assigned territory, including by air and overnight.
  • Ability to work at sites with limited accessibility.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must live within the assigned territory or be willing to relocate; relocation assistance is not available.
