Field Application Engineer, Germany (Remote)

Provide installation, training, maintenance, and repair support for Formlabs 3D printing systems across the DACH region. This remote role involves frequent customer-site travel and hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting.

Description

  • Visit customer locations to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate 3D printing systems
  • Deliver structured on-site instruction covering machine operation, software, and basic maintenance
  • Lead live demonstrations of Formlabs products
  • Address customer downtime and complete urgent repairs, frequently at short notice
  • Coordinate annual preventive-maintenance visits within the 90-day service target
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical faults and resolve issues during a single visit where possible
  • Handle a high volume of field-service activity
  • Organize complex travel independently and file expenses on schedule
  • Record installation, training, and repair activities in Salesforce

Requirements

  • Preferably live in Munich or within a 45-minute drive for access to the regional hub
  • Be prepared to travel to customer sites more than 80% of the time
  • Bring strong electromechanical or hardware expertise
  • Communicate effectively when teaching customers to use the technology
  • Demonstrate C1-level fluency in both German and English
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • French, enthusiasm for 3D printing and emerging technologies, and experience in a fast-growing startup are advantageous
