Description
- Lead technical and non-technical initiatives that span multiple engineering teams
- Find organizational constraints, implement improvements independently, and evaluate their measurable impact
- Create an environment where engineers can propose ideas, gain support, and turn them into action
- Clear delivery, hiring, and technical obstacles while maintaining team autonomy
- Recruit, onboard, and develop engineers across experience levels
- Define transparent performance expectations and address performance concerns promptly and fairly
- Advance the adoption and effective use of agentic AI throughout the engineering organization
- Work with product managers to deliver intuitive, dependable, high-quality user experiences while preserving team independence
Requirements
- At least three years of experience managing engineers in a product company, excluding agency and outsourcing environments
- Provide two or three examples of engineering or process improvements you initiated, led through completion, and measured, with impact extending beyond your team
- Comfort working as a hands-off manager without writing code, owning architecture, or serving as the technical authority
- Experience managing engineers directly without an intermediate layer of team leads and architects, or having removed that layer
- Experience addressing underperformance early and transparently
- Experience developing engineers into senior-level roles
- Agentic AI is part of your working approach, and you have led its adoption among others
- Able to make sound decisions with incomplete information, set sharp priorities, and recognize when your workload has become excessive
- Communicate openly, provide full context, and take accountability for mistakes
- Base decisions on logic, data, and input from multiple perspectives
- Fluent Russian
