Desktop Support Technician - L3Harris Technologies, Huntsville

Provide on-site desktop support and technology guidance to manufacturing, engineering, and business teams in Huntsville. Help maintain secure, reliable operations through hardware, software, network, and technology improvement initiatives.

Description

  • Deliver advanced on-site technical guidance, analysis, recommendations, and support to users and manufacturing, engineering, and business teams.
  • Assess user needs and determine the tools required to address them.
  • Recommend suitable hardware, software, and other technology solutions.
  • Assess technology risks and propose measures that improve reliability and limit business disruption.
  • Guide manufacturing, engineering, and business stakeholders on technology choices and solutions.
  • Evaluate current technology and propose improvements, standards, and sustainable solutions.
  • Advise whether technology should be purchased, upgraded, replaced, or retired.
  • Assess available technology options and recommend those that satisfy operational and business needs.
  • Lead technology enhancement initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and lower operational risk.
  • Review system performance, evaluate capacity needs, and investigate the sources of technology problems.
  • Propose configuration and process changes that strengthen reliability, security, compliance, and long-term performance.
  • Set priorities and lead technology improvements that support operations and reduce disruption.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and core cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems, remote management tools, and monitoring software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, and industrial automation.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills for translating technical information for nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively under pressure during production-critical events.
  • Willingness to continue learning and adapt to changing technologies.
