Data Scientist / AI Engineer, Life Sciences (Remote, Germany)

Develop machine learning models and data pipelines for ALTEN’s life sciences engineering projects. Contribute to GxP validation, regulatory compliance, and data-informed recommendations.

Description

  • Create and deploy machine learning and AI models for biological, clinical, and technical datasets.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL, integration, and transformation pipelines.
  • Apply modern big data technologies to streamline and automate processes.
  • Partner with R&D, IT, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance teams across disciplines.
  • Contribute to validation, documentation, and compliance work within a GxP setting.
  • Analyze data exploratorily to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Communicate results and translate analysis into actionable, data-driven recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience building ML models, data pipelines, and analytical applications.
  • Working proficiency in Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or equivalent technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and data engineering tools such as Spark, Airflow, and Docker.
  • At least three years of professional experience in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical technology environment.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English.
