Associate Director / Senior Manager, Global Master Data Management Engineering and Operations

Lead global master data platforms, integrations, and operations supporting Johnson & Johnson’s orthopaedics business. Oversee teams, governance, architecture, and enterprise data improvement initiatives.

Description

  • Own the global Master Data Management platform data landscape
  • Evaluate and align data needs with business objectives
  • Build and configure MDM platforms, workflows, data models, and agents
  • Deliver integrations and distribute data to downstream systems
  • Manage MDM platform availability, security, performance, releases, patching, access, and environment health
  • Direct strategic processes, projects, and daily operations across MDM data, systems, and infrastructure
  • Support Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D, and Corporate Systems and their links to enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and business solutions
  • Lead and mentor Global MDM Engineering and Operations associates
  • Develop team members’ technical and business capabilities to meet objectives
  • Manage partner relationships and strengthen MDM knowledge and process understanding
  • Define and maintain metrics that improve processes across MDM domains and environments
  • Make independent decisions and present process or policy recommendations to DePuy Synthes Information Technologies leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and gather requirements
  • Lead systems improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and operational performance
  • Work with executive leaders, directors, and managers to plan and deliver improvement efforts
  • Support education, training, tool development, and enhancements for MDM application data access
  • Escalate issues and opportunities to the next level of management
  • Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities
  • Expand the MDM ecosystem into a global medallion architecture supporting enterprise applications and AI environments
  • Enable high-quality data and data-driven organizational insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts required; an MBA or Master of Science is also listed
  • At least 8 years of professional experience required, preferably in a related field
  • Previous people-management experience required
  • Experience implementing and supporting MDM technologies such as SAP MDG and Reltio
  • Experience developing enterprise or business MDM strategies across complex data architectures, data governance, and AI data readiness
  • Demonstrated success leading or mentoring teams through quality and process improvements
  • Experience creating training materials and teaching audiences at all levels
  • Strong project or account management capabilities and testing strategy experience
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated success managing outsource partners and delivering projects on schedule and within budget
  • Experience with Master Data Management, Supply Chain, R&D, Corporate, and Commercial Systems
  • Strong business judgment and technical proficiency
  • Strong organizational, communication, social, and interpersonal abilities
  • Results-focused problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
  • Sound critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work within a matrix reporting structure and on project teams
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and exercise independent judgment in business decisions
  • Preferred experience includes analyst work, call-center support structures or processes, and SFE or LEAN/Six Sigma improvement tools
  • Proficiency with query and report-writing tools, Incentive Compensation Systems, and PC software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Windows
