Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist

Manage complex workers’ compensation claims across Pennsylvania and Delaware for Strategic Comp, part of Great American Insurance Group. The remote role covers investigation, reserving, negotiation, and resolution.

Description

  • Oversee Pennsylvania and Delaware workers’ compensation claims from intake through closure.
  • Assess claim evidence, coverage, compensability, and eligibility for benefits.
  • Plan and carry out approaches that support prompt, favorable claim outcomes.
  • Set and monitor appropriate reserves for each claim.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve claims.
  • Keep claimants, insured parties, employers, and other stakeholders informed.
  • Create and deliver large-loss reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Work with defense counsel on litigation plans and claim resolution.
  • Coordinate with medical case managers, surveillance providers, and other outside resources.
  • Follow Illinois workers’ compensation laws and regulations.
  • Keep claim records accurate and current.
  • Review claim patterns and exposures to inform sound decisions.
  • Deliver strong customer service and build productive relationships with customers and business partners.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years adjusting Pennsylvania and Delaware workers’ compensation claims, including complex or high-exposure cases.
  • Strong grasp of Pennsylvania and Delaware workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and claims practices.
  • Professional industry credentials, such as Associate in Claims (AIC), are preferred.
  • Able to work Eastern Time business hours and travel occasionally as needed.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Able to work with a range of internal and external contacts.
  • A Delaware workers’ compensation license is required.
  • Additional state licenses are a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
