Associate Creative Director, Copy — Remote in Canada

Lead copy-led performance campaigns for Directive, a B2B marketing consultancy. Develop creative territories, messaging, and testing strategies connected to revenue outcomes.

Description

  • Turn Moments that Matter into creative territories, messaging hypotheses, campaign concepts, headlines, calls to action, and copy direction
  • Apply senior creative judgment to fast-moving, digital-first work linked to business outcomes
  • Refine creative requests and uncover stronger creative angles before execution
  • Represent the creative function in strategic new-business and portfolio-sales opportunities
  • Develop speculative and portfolio-ready creative work
  • Support campaign case studies designed to grow accounts and generate new revenue
  • Own the idea, messaging, and creative direction before production begins
  • Establish the foundation for Directive’s strategic creative approach
  • Convert campaign and creative briefs into territories, concepts, hooks, headlines, calls to action, landing-page narrative direction, and message sequencing
  • Give designers clear concepts and copy direction
  • Review creative requests, briefs, workflows, pitch materials, and performance-creative examples
  • Work with Creative Production, Paid Media, Growth, Sales, Account leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Define campaign-brief requirements and develop a reusable campaign creative brief template
  • Determine priority use cases for the campaign model
  • Guide briefs from insight and hypothesis through concept, copy direction, handoff, launch, and learning
  • Create creative territories, messaging angles, campaign copy, and testing recommendations
  • Set a creative review cadence centered on concept quality, message clarity, testability, and business relevance
  • Build a message-and-proof library with an accompanying taxonomy
  • Create a repeatable testing cycle from hypothesis to variant, data, and decision

Requirements

  • Bring 4–6 years of professional creative experience, including substantial work in an agency, professional services, or B2B marketing setting
  • Provide a portfolio spanning brand and performance creative, including a developed visual system and an ad campaign with measurable results
  • Demonstrate experience taking campaigns from initial concept through execution
  • Maintain and develop brand standards across multiple channels
  • Understand creative strategy and storytelling principles
  • Translate ICP, positioning, personas, jobs-to-be-done insights, proof points, objections, and funnel-stage context into creative hypotheses and campaign concepts
  • Present creative strategy with executive presence in new-business, portfolio-sales, client-facing, or leadership contexts
  • Understand performance creative, testing methods, message iteration, pipeline influence, and revenue-focused creative measurement
  • Collaborate effectively with production designers, paid media strategists, Account Directors, Growth, and Sales
  • Work confidently through ambiguity and incomplete briefs
  • Know digital marketing and social media
  • Understand UX and UI design
  • Understand video and motion graphics
  • Understand content strategy
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud and AI-assisted creative tools
  • Demonstrate expert command of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Use After Effects and Premiere Pro proficiently
  • Have Figma experience with design systems, component libraries, and collaborative handoff
  • Be familiar with A/B testing and CRO tools such as Optimizely, Unbounce, or Crazy Egg
  • Work comfortably with generative AI and the recommended tools from the start
  • Hold current, permanent work authorization in your country of residence
  • Have reliable high-speed internet and a professional workspace suitable for Adobe Creative Suite and video-production software
  • Be able to remain stationary for extended periods and operate design and video software on Mac or PC
  • Consistently observe and interpret written and verbal communication
