- Set editorial direction, tone, and standards for Postmedia’s Nova Scotia publications to support audience growth.
- Lead and support employees as they build audience engagement across a mission-driven organization.
- Oversee Nova Scotia editorial teams, including the Chronicle Herald, Cape Breton Post, rural community publications, and a politics bureau serving all titles.
- Maintain editorial standards and make decisions about coverage, story presentation, and newsroom priorities.
- Coordinate regional coverage, shared resources, and editorial strategy with other regional editors.
- Partner with colleagues across the Postmedia Network to support families and communities through journalism.
- Develop staff, strengthen newsroom capabilities, and create growth opportunities for strong performers.
- Oversee staffing, performance, labour relations, and other people leadership responsibilities.
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least five years’ experience as an editor, assignment editor, or in another senior newsroom leadership role.
- A proven record of sound editorial judgment, newsroom leadership, and decision-making.
- Ability to lead people through change and work effectively with other leaders.
- Expertise in SEO, audience analytics, and digital content optimization.
- Experience publishing and managing newsletters, with an understanding of how they support loyalty, retention, and conversion.
