Software Engineering Manager at Fanatics (Remote - New York)
Lead engineering teams building scalable Fanatics App products across free-to-play games, live events, ecommerce, and sports experiences. Partner with product and design leaders to deliver reliable software and guide technical execution.
Descriere
- Lead engineering teams and provide technical direction across the engineering organization
- Build and manage software teams while advancing engineering standards and best practices
- Define technical requirements, balance priorities, and lead delivery planning through daily scrum practices
- Remove delivery obstacles or escalate blockers when necessary
- Partner with product and design teams to develop an ambitious, achievable roadmap for stakeholders and executives
- Improve execution reliability through clear goals, data, KPIs, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Report KPIs, project status, and performance metrics to executives and key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, or expand solutions for stronger outcomes
- Recruit, evaluate, and onboard a diverse team of engineers
- Lead engineering for Fanatics App products spanning free-to-play games, live events, ecommerce, and emerging sports-platform experiences
Cerințe
- At least one year of experience managing an engineering team
- At least four years of experience developing highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems
- Broad knowledge of software design approaches and the ability to break down architectures for implementation by multiple teams
- Ability to scope projects against target dates and business objectives
- Ability to distinguish essential, deferrable, and omittable features and negotiate priorities with Product Management
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, and non-technical functional leaders
- Experience with Agile software delivery and Scrum methodology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong report-writing skills with the ability to gather, assess, analyze, and logically organize information
- Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment with changing priorities and rapid decision-making
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute wherever needed to complete the work
- Ability to collaborate across functions in an enterprise environment
- Preferred: experience in a startup environment
- Preferred: strong mobile software engineering experience
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform
