Senior Java Software Engineering Manager
Lead Java microservices architecture and development for PNC banking technology while managing engineers, setting technical standards, guiding delivery, and supporting career growth.

- Design, code, review, and troubleshoot software as a hands-on technical leader
- Lead architecture and development of Java microservices with Spring Boot and API-driven patterns
- Set team technical standards and promote sound engineering practices and code quality
- Work with architecture and platform teams to build scalable, resilient, secure systems
- Contribute to key technical discussions, design reviews, and complex problem solving
- Manage and mentor 10–15 software engineers
- Support performance management, career growth, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
- Coach and guide engineers while enabling them to deliver high-quality solutions
- Coordinate with product managers, designers, QA, DevOps, and engineering colleagues
- Explain technical designs, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and delivery commitments
- Guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and design discussions
- Set an example through sound engineering practices and professional conduct
- Keep customer needs in view and manage risks under PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework
