Management Accountant, 6-Month Contract
Chartered accountant overseeing reporting, audits, VAT, and the wind-down of Octopus Energy’s UK ECO scheme. Remote UK contract with occasional travel to the London office.
Aprašymas
- Prepare monthly management reports, including month-end workbooks, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinate with finance representatives to close monthly results
- Develop year-end financial statements with Group finance and tax teams
- Complete and submit VAT returns
- Oversee the reasonable assurance review of the ECO scheme government grant
- Direct the financial wind-down and move the business to dormant entity accounts
- Manage statutory and regulatory reporting, reconciliations, and final audit work
Reikalavimai
- Hold a recognised chartered accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Understand financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit procedures
- Use Excel confidently and work with large, complex datasets
- Know UK accounting standards, including FRS 102
- Explain complex financial information clearly to colleagues and senior leaders
- Be organised, self-starting, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Pay close attention to detail in reporting, reconciliations, and audit work
- Work independently and resolve issues in a fast-moving environment
- Be available to start immediately
- Experience with ECO, government-funded programmes, or other regulated schemes is advantageous but not required
