Aprašymas

  • Deliver accurate ASL-to-English and English-to-ASL interpretation
  • Interpret individual conversations, group interactions, and virtual or onsite meetings
  • Support communication in education, healthcare, legal, and community service settings
  • Use Video Remote Interpreting and related technologies for remote assignments
  • Protect confidentiality and adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Work collaboratively with Deaf individuals, colleagues, and organizational staff
  • Complete additional language-support duties as assigned
  • Remain on call and respond to potential assignment notifications within 48 hours
  • Work extended sessions and, when required, flexible, holiday, or nonstandard business hours

Reikalavimai

  • At least three years of professional ASL interpreting experience in one or more relevant fields
  • RID or Certified Deaf Interpreter certification, or an equivalent credential
  • Fluency in ASL and English
  • Strong comprehension, vocabulary, and cultural awareness
  • A thorough understanding of Deaf culture
  • Professional, discreet, and empathetic handling of complex or sensitive communication
  • Physical endurance and sustained mental focus during extended interpreting sessions
  • Experience with virtual interpreting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or VRI tools
  • Successful completion of background checks and any required client or project screenings
  • Availability to travel for onsite assignments when needed
  • Ability to maintain a productive, professional workspace
  • Proficiency with computers and office productivity tools
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while viewing a computer screen
  • Bachelor's degree in ASL, Linguistics, Deaf Studies, or a related discipline is strongly preferred
  • Experience in high-profile or specialized fields is preferred
  • Knowledge of tactile interpreting is preferred
  • Additional spoken-language fluency is preferred
  • BEI certification with a minimum score of 3 is preferred
