- Lead stakeholder discussions to clarify objectives, constraints, assumptions, priorities, and desired outcomes.
- Review proposed requirements for completeness, feasibility, and implementation impact.
- Convert business needs into actionable solution requirements and architectural considerations.
- Assess current business, application, data, platform, infrastructure, and operational capabilities.
- Identify capability gaps, process weaknesses, technology limitations, organizational constraints, and modernization opportunities.
- Determine whether existing enterprise capabilities can meet stakeholder requirements.
- Record findings and recommend responses to identified gaps and deficiencies.
- Create solution concepts and candidate approaches for business needs and capability gaps.
- Compare alternatives across benefits, risks, dependencies, complexity, operational effects, and cost.
- Lead alternative analyses, trade studies, and decision-support efforts.
- Recommend approaches that balance mission value, technical feasibility, organizational readiness, and sustainability.
- Produce objective, decision-ready recommendations with documented rationale.
- Explain benefits, tradeoffs, constraints, risks, assumptions, and implementation considerations.
- Support working groups, review boards, architecture governance, and executive decision forums.
- Help leaders evaluate competing solution approaches before committing resources.
- Help project and program teams convert approved solutions into implementation plans.
- Identify dependencies, sequencing, resource needs, organizational effects, and transition requirements.
- Support deployment, adoption, operations, sustainment, and continuous improvement planning.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, engineering, business information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- At least 12 years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, enterprise architecture, business analysis, service design, technology modernization, or related transformation initiatives.
- Experience analyzing business, mission, operational, technical, security, compliance, and organizational requirements and turning them into actionable solution approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to assess current-state capabilities, identify gaps, evaluate constraints, and recommend solutions aligned with business needs and technical realities.
- Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical architectures across applications, data, infrastructure, platforms, cybersecurity, integration services, and operations.
- Experience performing gap assessments, root-cause analysis, business process analysis, capability assessments, and solution evaluations in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience comparing solution alternatives through trade studies covering business value, implementation complexity, organizational readiness, supportability, risk, lifecycle cost, and sustainability.
- Experience identifying ways to use existing enterprise capabilities, shared services, platforms, and reusable architecture patterns to meet stakeholder needs.
- Experience supporting intake, discovery, requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, solution assessment, and decision support across multiple business and technology domains.
- Experience developing recommendations grounded in technical analysis, business considerations, operational effects, implementation constraints, and strategic objectives.
- Experience collaborating with enterprise and platform architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, operations groups, service owners, program managers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience producing architecture artifacts, capability assessments, gap analyses, solution recommendations, decision papers, implementation roadmaps, and executive briefings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts, alternatives, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience supporting engineering and operations teams, working groups, platform teams, architecture or technology review boards, governance forums, investment reviews, or similar decision bodies.
- Preferred: Experience conducting capability assessments, gap analyses, analyses of alternatives, trade studies, modernization assessments, technology evaluations, and business-case development.
- Preferred: Experience with enterprise modernization, digital transformation, cloud migration, service delivery improvement, platform rationalization, or technology lifecycle management.
- Preferred: Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, requirements sessions, architecture reviews, operational assessments, and executive decision-support activities.
