Description

  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Design scalable, high-performance data structures for enterprise applications, warehouses, analytics, reporting, and real-time environments.
  • Establish source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data structures, and integration requirements for ETL/ELT, migration, and consolidation initiatives.
  • Develop dimensional models, including star and snowflake schemas, for reporting, business intelligence, analytical workloads, and downstream data use.
  • Align data models with governance principles, modeling standards, naming conventions, metadata requirements, data quality expectations, and architectural guidelines.
  • Assess and improve logical and physical models to support query performance, scalability, maintainability, and efficient data-platform use.
  • Work with data and solution architects, engineers, developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Record data models, design decisions, definitions, and technical recommendations.
  • Advise development and implementation teams on data modeling and architecture practices.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, data management, or a related discipline.
  • Bring at least five years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, data warehousing, or comparable data-focused roles, preferably in large enterprise settings.
  • Demonstrate strong experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Have strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, normalization, denormalization, keys, relationships, constraints, and dimensional modeling.
  • Have hands-on experience with data warehousing, OLTP/OLAP architectures, ETL/ELT, data integration, and source-to-target mapping.
  • Be experienced with modeling and design tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, Data Vault, or equivalent enterprise platforms.
  • Understand data governance, quality, metadata management, lineage, standards, and data architecture principles.
  • Have experience working with large-scale enterprise platforms and complex environments spanning multiple source systems and data domains.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Communicate effectively through documentation, presentations, stakeholder collaboration, and technical discussions.
  • Cloud data platforms and modern data architectures are preferred.
  • Experience with Teradata, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with real-time or streaming data and analytical platforms is preferred.
  • Experience in telecommunications, financial services, or other large enterprise environments is preferred.
  • Understanding AI/ML data requirements and data architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.
