Description

  • Lead discovery by choosing research methods that turn customer insight into actionable design direction
  • Own squad design delivery from early flows through production implementation
  • Partner with engineers throughout the process while accounting for build effort in design decisions
  • Help evolve the design system and assess when customer value justifies a deviation
  • Conduct usability testing and experiments with measurable success criteria
  • Apply AI throughout the workflow, including independently moving design changes into production
  • Design in line with Consumer Duty and accessibility requirements
  • Review other designers’ work and surface opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate design critiques and document clear, self-contained rationale
  • Focus primarily on Zable’s financial SuperApp, used by more than 2 million monthly active users
  • Lead complex product areas from discovery and research through polished, production-ready experiences
  • Set product design direction in partnership with product managers and engineering
  • Mentor designers while raising standards for craft and measurable outcomes
  • Report to the VP of Product & Design

Requirements

  • At least five years of product design experience, preferably in fintech or a fast-moving startup
  • Proven experience designing for both mobile apps and the web
  • Customer-focused and comfortable using data to challenge solution-led briefs and support decisions with evidence
  • Willingness to take creative risks and articulate ambitious design directions clearly
  • Able to influence senior stakeholders and challenge decisions when quality or customer outcomes are at risk
  • AI-native mindset with the judgment to move beyond the first obvious result
  • Interested in mentoring and giving constructive feedback to fellow designers
  • Experience creating AI-powered products is advantageous
  • Experience shipping product improvements without engineering support, including through CMS or no-code tools, is advantageous
  • Experience working in regulated settings such as Consumer Duty is advantageous
  • UX writing experience is advantageous
  • Able to work from the office three days each week and hold UK work authorization or qualify for applicable company visa sponsorship.
