Description

  • Partner across teams to expand GLS/NXT’s data infrastructure
  • Help shape the roadmap and delivery of GLS/NXT data products
  • Build, monitor, and scale pipelines that support data warehousing
  • Connect diverse data sources with their destinations
  • Create data models and schemas for analytical needs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture and infrastructure challenges
  • Develop practical technical solutions
  • Support cross-functional initiatives for data applications and reporting
  • Resolve data quality problems and apply proven best practices
  • Maintain thorough documentation for systems
  • Protect the reliability and integrity of the data infrastructure and analytics platform
  • Define and implement data testing strategies
  • Detect data quality issues proactively
  • Provide accurate, dependable data for analytics and reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline
  • At least five years of demonstrated experience in data engineering
  • Advanced ability to design, build, monitor, and scale data pipelines
  • Practical experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
  • Strong Python and Go programming skills
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong working knowledge of Google BigQuery and Snowflake
  • Proficiency in SQL across varied data sources
  • Experience using dbt for data modeling, schema design, incremental strategies, and query optimization
  • Expertise with Looker and LookML
  • Experience managing software development operations, including CI/CD pipelines and agile practices
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize work and manage projects against business objectives
  • Ability to establish clear priorities that support successful project delivery
