Senior Cloud Architect / Software Engineer – Melbourne, FL (Onsite)
Designing secure cloud architectures, distributed systems, and DevSecOps solutions for telecommunications and information-management systems serving aerospace and defense customers. This role covers microservices, containers, infrastructure as code, and cloud software delivery at L3Harris Technologies.
Description
- Join the Mission Networks team to develop secure, dependable telecommunications networks and information-management systems
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud architectures that satisfy system requirements
- Contribute across the full systems lifecycle, from capture and technical baseline development through requirements, system software design, integration, testing, and selloff
- Support Business Development through white papers, trade studies, rapid prototypes, and technical proposal responses
- Work with customers to understand use cases, establish requirements, design cloud-enabled solutions, support system testing, and deploy solutions in customer environments
- Architect large-scale distributed systems built with microservices and containers
- Provide practical engineering support to implementation, research and development, and software teams
- Build and maintain virtualized, containerized, and cloud-ready environments, including component and security updates
- Partner with security teams to define and implement security controls
- Act as a subject matter expert in cloud, microservices, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps
- Advise on industry trends, tools, and methods that improve solution delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience
- Graduate degree with at least 10 years of related experience
- Alternatively, 16 years of software experience may substitute for the degree requirement
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust, which requires U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain required security clearance or access eligibility when applicable
- At least 5 years leading software teams that deliver enterprise solutions using RESTful web services, microservices, or cloud components; AWS experience is preferred
- At least 3 years using cloud service providers for solutions involving cloud computing, containers, VPCs, infrastructure as code, and security groups
- At least 3 years designing scalable infrastructure and automated cloud deployments with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable tools
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS SysOps certification experience is preferred
- Kubernetes Administrator certification experience is preferred
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other shell scripting languages
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra, MariaDB, InfluxDB, and EnterpriseDB
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban software development methods
