Senior Advanced Project Engineer, Electronics Supplier Development

Lead supplier development for electronic components supporting aerospace and defense systems. Improve supplier quality, production capacity, reliability, and operational performance.

Description

  • Assess electronic component suppliers and help transition hardware from development into production.
  • Perform supplier risk reviews and implement focused quality improvement plans for electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and contribute to supplier capacity assessments.
  • Define measurable performance standards and expectations for electronic components.
  • Work with suppliers on OPEX initiatives that improve product flow, throughput, lead times, and yield.
  • Verify supplier compliance with quality systems, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, New Product Introduction, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Address supplier issues and strengthen end-to-end supply chain performance.
  • Travel locally and within the United States, typically 25% and occasionally up to 50%.
  • Report to the Director of Supplier Development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • At least five years of manufacturing, engineering, or supplier development experience involving Printed Wiring Boards or other electrical component production, design, engineering, or New Product Introduction.
  • Working knowledge of quality and problem-solving methods, including Root Cause Corrective Action and Advanced Product Quality Planning or Production Part Approval Process.
  • Understanding of aerospace standards and practices for electronic components and Printed Wiring Board manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier development, supplier relationship management, and quality control.
  • Experience managing projects and facilitating Kaizen activities.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance, downtime-focused asset management, critical spare parts, and capital expenditure proposals.
  • Budget management experience and financial acumen.
  • At least six years of leadership and team management experience.
  • Green or Black Belt certification in Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, including a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, protected individual under U.S. asylum or refugee status, or someone able to obtain export authorization.
