Finance Analyst - Cisco Splunk (Remote, United States)

Support Cisco’s Splunk Product Organization with OPEX planning, forecasting, reporting, and expense analysis. Model headcount costs and help Engineering leaders make informed investment decisions.

Description

  • Provide OPEX support for Cisco’s Splunk Product Organization
  • Help Engineering leaders prioritize work and make decisions
  • Support portfolio planning, annual budgets, quarterly commitments, month-end and quarterly close, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and compliance
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management leaders, HR, talent acquisition, and accounting to develop effective practices
  • Model headcount costs and discretionary spending
  • Recommend slowing or accelerating expenditures according to team priorities
  • Increase forecast accuracy through improved analytics and cross-functional collaboration
  • Assist with monthly close, including accruals, variance analysis, and purchase order, invoice, and requisition approvals
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses
  • Evaluate the effects of GAAP and Cisco accounting policies on expense forecasts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business discipline, plus at least three years of demonstrated experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel
  • Experience using finance ERP and planning platforms such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase, NetSuite, or Anaplan
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Advanced analytical ability with careful attention to detail
  • OpEx or COGS experience is preferred
  • Experience in a SaaS business
  • Ability to advance process improvement and automation
