Description

  • Audit claims, medical records, and supporting documentation to uncover errors, discrepancies, and compliance concerns.
  • Confirm that services are documented, coded, and billed accurately under payer and regulatory standards.
  • Find additional billable services, improve coding precision, and help lower claim denial rates.
  • Review reimbursement rates and payer fee schedules.
  • Train clinical and administrative teams on effective coding and documentation practices.
  • Track coding and billing rule changes and communicate relevant updates to staff.
  • Oversee adherence to CMS and third-party payer requirements.
  • Evaluate revenue integrity metrics and prepare performance reports.
  • Implement workflow improvements that strengthen revenue integrity, reduce errors, and improve efficiency.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve issues and refine revenue cycle operations.
  • Support coders and clinical personnel with complex coding cases and documentation questions.
  • Perform recurring chart audits and give feedback to improve documentation quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management, nursing, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of healthcare billing, coding, or revenue cycle experience focused on revenue integrity.
  • Experience in eye care is preferred.
  • Relevant credentials, such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC), may be preferred.
