Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accounting Manager

Manage private equity and hedge fund accounting operations at SEI, leading client service, compliance, financial reporting and team development. The role supports domestic and offshore fund administration and works with clients and internal partners.

Description

  • Act as the primary client contact for domestic and offshore alternative fund accounting and administration
  • Assign funds across the team
  • Coordinate and onboard new fund setups
  • Connect clients with internal teams
  • Deliver accurate accounting packages
  • Coordinate and support year-end audits in accordance with GAAP
  • Conduct due diligence to confirm client compliance with laws and regulations
  • Review fund transactions under anti-money laundering policies and procedures
  • Ensure the team follows departmental rules and regulations
  • Prepare and reconcile accounting reports, including month-end valuation reports
  • Review and approve month-end valuations before sending them to clients
  • Authorize wire payments from fund escrow accounts
  • Respond to investment managers' questions about transactions, administration, reporting and financial statements
  • Work with investment managers, transfer agents, sales and service teams, technology support and vendors to resolve issues
  • Conduct performance reviews and monthly one-on-one meetings
  • Provide career guidance and training
  • Assess staffing needs, interview candidates and hire employees
  • Support team development, promotions and disciplinary actions
  • Assist business development and relationship teams with prospect calls, client visits and presentations
  • Coordinate onboarding for new and converted clients
  • Gather client requirements and submit custom requests
  • Communicate key deliverables to team members
  • Take part in professional development sessions and identify process improvements

Requirements

  • Hold a BA or BS in business, accounting, finance, economics or mathematics, or have equivalent professional experience
  • Have at least five years of experience in the fund services industry
  • Have experience with alternative investments
  • Have at least two years of supervisory or management experience
  • Have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills
  • Be able to learn new financial services concepts and systems
  • Show attention to detail and accuracy
