Junior IT Operations Specialist – Hamilton (Onsite)
Support Aecon offices, job sites, networks, and end users as a junior IT operations specialist. Deploy equipment and coordinate IT operations for Aecon’s Hamilton LRT infrastructure project.
Description
- Support assigned offices and job sites
- Deliver remote and in-person technical support to end users
- Deploy IT equipment and maintain CMDB records
- Plan and manage job-site setups with internal teams and external vendors
- Maintain diagrams for cabling, workstation needs, and meeting-room equipment
- Support offices and job sites from mobilization through demobilization
- Coordinate the recovery and decommissioning of IT equipment
- Provide IT support for projects as required
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and procurement to obtain cost-effective site equipment
- Help prepare estimates for new project job sites
- Comply with Aecon’s IT policies, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements
- A degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience in information services
- Hands-on experience and training with HP, Cisco, Juniper, Lenovo, and Apple hardware and software
- ITIL familiarity is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft products, including Microsoft 365, Teams Windows App, and Intune
- Experience deploying, supporting, and managing large printer fleets
- Experience setting up, deploying, and supporting meeting-room and videoconferencing technology
- Experience with incident, problem, knowledge, change, and service-level management, along with ITSM tools such as BMC
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Strong customer service capabilities
- Technical proficiency in computer hardware and software configuration
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify, assess, and resolve issues promptly and systematically using industry best practices and procedures
