IT Business Solutions Analyst – Hybrid at Eversource Energy

Eversource Energy seeks an IT Business Solutions Analyst to connect utility business needs with effective technology solutions. The role covers requirements analysis, process improvement, IT roadmaps, and application lifecycle leadership.

Description

  • Act as the connection between business teams and IT.
  • Learn and assess business goals, objectives, and needs.
  • Partner with IT teams to resolve issues and recommend business solutions.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Help IT architects, technical specialists, and business clients shape conceptual solutions.
  • Define requirements for new or improved products, services, and business processes.
  • Advise on IT strategy, planning, workflow design, process design, and solution development.
  • Lead application lifecycle activities for development projects of varying sizes.
  • Manage meetings and communications between IT and assigned business teams.
  • Lead or supervise workflow analysis and requirements discovery.
  • Assess business processes and support solution development and implementation.
  • Document business, user, and user-story requirements through analysis and refinement.
  • Contribute to the development of IT roadmaps.
  • Find process improvement opportunities and promote organizational change.
  • Verify that solutions satisfy business needs and defined requirements.
  • Track industry developments and identify relevant solutions and best practices.
  • Review business processes and create functional optimization strategies.
  • Prepare user documentation, manuals, training materials, and job aids when needed.
  • Coordinate application development and support with internal, external, and business teams.
  • Build capital project business cases and estimates for presentation to the PMO and Finance.
  • Evaluate enhancement requests for value and completeness.
  • Lead or support Business Priority Council meetings.
  • Assist with procurement events and statements of work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five to eight years of demonstrated Business Analysis experience.
  • Understanding of business operations and general systems.
  • Capacity to learn new applications, processes, and procedures quickly.
  • Exposure to diverse technologies and application development methodologies.
  • Experience contributing to a large-scale project.
  • Knowledge of at least one business domain and its relationship to solution design.
  • Experience with business process analysis and current- and future-state modeling.
  • Knowledge of IT service management, especially demand management practices and controls.
  • Understanding of IT standards and controls.
  • Ability to collaborate across business and technical functions and influence stakeholders at multiple management levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business process optimization abilities.
  • Effective written, verbal, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to plan independently and manage organizational and time-management demands.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Agile methods and tools such as Jira, VSTS, or comparable applications is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of financial models, cost models, and budgeting.
  • Ability to weigh long-term and short-term implications of solution decisions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and fulfill commitments.
  • Ability to lead small, high-performing teams.
  • Experience with ESRI or ArcFM GIS Enterprise.
  • Experience supporting procurement events such as RFPs and RFIs and preparing statements of work.
  • Availability for emergency restoration assignments.
  • Availability to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as needed.
  • Prior utility industry experience is advantageous.
  • Listed certifications include ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, AAC, CFLBA, CPRE, PMI PBA, and SAFe POPM.
