Financial Controller – Warsaw Hybrid

Lead accounting, tax, VAT and statutory reporting for Karo Healthcare’s Polish entity. Drive finance insourcing, controls and reporting from the company’s Warsaw office.

Description

  • Manage the Polish entity’s month-end, quarter-end and annual closing processes from start to finish
  • Review the P&L and balance sheet, investigate fluctuations, complete reconciliations and coordinate follow-up actions
  • Prepare and submit statutory financial statements under the Polish Accounting Act while maintaining alignment with IFRS group reporting
  • Manage Polish tax and VAT compliance, including CIT, VAT-UE, JPK_V7, KSeF administration and withholding tax
  • Direct statutory, tax and VAT audits through to completion
  • Manage the transfer of accounting activities from the external provider to the Finance Centre of Excellence
  • Review transfer pricing documentation and support intercompany settlement processes
  • Approve balance sheet reconciliations and prepare reconciliations required for the Polish entity
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee payment approvals
  • Supervise payroll-related settlements and serve as the local finance contact for HR payroll matters
  • Manage statutory and statistical submissions to KRS, CRBR, GUS and NBP
  • Enhance internal controls, financial governance and risk mitigation practices
  • Collaborate with Business Controllers, Financial Control Leads and international finance stakeholders
  • Advance the continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting or a related discipline
  • At least six years of financial control or accounting experience, including complete statutory reporting responsibility for Polish legal entities
  • Strong practical knowledge of Polish tax and VAT requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage statutory audits from initiation through completion
  • Thorough knowledge of the Polish Accounting Act, statutory reporting obligations and Polish tax law
  • Practical KSeF experience and awareness of forthcoming JPK_CIT requirements
  • Sound IFRS knowledge and the ability to resolve complex accounting matters independently
  • Experience with accounting insourcing, outsourcing or ERP migration is advantageous
  • Good understanding of Record to Report, Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay processes
  • Experience using integrated ERP systems and advanced Excel capability
  • Strong grasp of internal controls, risk mitigation and statutory compliance
  • Fluent written and spoken Polish and English
  • Polish accounting certification or ACCA is advantageous
  • Shared Service Centre or Centre of Excellence experience is beneficial
  • Background in FMCG, consumer healthcare, retail or another fast-moving international sector is preferred
  • Strong analytical ability and practical problem-solving skills
