Description

  • Assess, design, and develop business intelligence solutions across multiple technology stacks
  • Partner with business users to define report and dashboard requirements and identify gaps in data, logic, and business understanding
  • Design and develop backend solutions for new data sources with the Cloudera technology stack
  • Build complex, visually engaging, interactive Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and reports
  • Perform detailed data analysis, including cause-and-effect investigations
  • Design ETL workflows and data transformations for production and ad hoc analyses and reporting
  • Research industry best practices and help shape strategic data platforms, tools, and processes
  • Recommend standards, policies, and procedures for business intelligence tools and systems
  • Provide business teams with technical support and training
  • Develop data infrastructure and analytics software tools for Data Science
  • Mentor and train interns
  • Advise Data Scientists on software engineering best practices
  • Partner with analytics leaders and engineers on architectural and software improvements to the Data Science platform
  • Work with Data Science leadership to improve ETL and cluster computing
  • Support risk management commitments while protecting system and data integrity and confidentiality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two to four years of progressively responsible experience developing data engineering solutions with PySpark, Python, Spark, or Scala in a Linux environment
  • Working knowledge of Tableau Server and Tableau dashboard development
  • Demonstrated testing, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities
  • Knowledge of dashboard development, reporting, data modeling, ETL, and systems design
  • Experience working with SQL and Spark
  • Experience developing software and data engineering solutions in Python
  • Experience with machine learning toolkits in Python or R
  • Experience building reusable data ingestion and storage frameworks with Hadoop or AWS S3
  • Knowledge of relational databases, query optimization and tuning, indexing, and partitioning
  • Experience partnering with internal engineering and technology teams on data infrastructure in a regulated enterprise environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
  • Preferred: experience with Scala, Java, and PySpark
  • Preferred: experience with Hive or Impala and Linux
  • Preferred: fintech experience
