Category Manager, IT Partnerships - Computacenter, Irvine, CA

Lead IT partner relationships, category profitability, and P&L for Computacenter in Irvine. Oversee teams, suppliers, purchasing, inventory, and North American commercial strategy.

Description

  • Manage an assigned category within the partner management organization
  • Lead the category team and oversee personnel responsibilities
  • Build and manage commercial relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and service partners
  • Assign work, establish targets, conduct reviews, and support employee development
  • Coach and mentor team members while supporting professional qualification
  • Build a high-performing team through on-site, telecommunications, and distance leadership
  • Increase commercial contribution and optimize category profitability
  • Negotiate partner agreements and commercial programs
  • Collaborate with category managers and Expert Services across the Computacenter Group
  • Establish the team as a knowledge resource for sales teams and partner contacts
  • Create partner segmentation, strategies, business plans, and commercial tools including PVC and War Chest
  • Manage the category opportunity pipeline and forecast sales, Soft$ and MDF income
  • Own category P&L management
  • Assist Strategic Alliance Sales Directors with complex commercial negotiations
  • Oversee stock valuation and inventory management
  • Support buyers and maintain end-to-end supply chain performance
  • Resolve inbound delivery disputes and serve as an escalation point
  • Track workflows and due dates to maintain operational excellence

Requirements

  • University degree or an equivalent qualification
  • More than three years of professional experience or relevant specialization
  • Strong understanding of business administration
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Advanced problem-solving ability
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams across regional boundaries
  • Ability to work constructively and results-oriented with colleagues and contacts throughout CC North America
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder networking abilities
  • Strong negotiation skills for complex commercial discussions
  • Team-oriented approach to work
  • Resilience, self-motivation, persistence, and strong execution ability
  • Broad technology and market knowledge in the relevant category
  • Ability to define, align, and advance strategies and business plans
  • Ability to build and develop an opportunity pipeline
  • Business fluency in English
  • Previous personnel management or management experience
  • Ability to collaborate with the Strategic Sales Alliance team
  • Strong presentation skills for complex commercial solutions
