Business Data Analyst – Banking Data, Pune Hybrid

Design banking data marts that support regulatory reporting, analytics, and downstream use. Convert stakeholder needs into scalable data models with strong quality controls and traceability.

Description

  • Gather and document data mart requirements with Finance, Risk, and Regulatory stakeholders
  • Convert business needs into data mappings, transformation logic, and business rules
  • Establish KPIs, metrics, and regulatory data elements covering capital, liquidity, and exposure
  • Profile and analyze data to uncover gaps, inconsistencies, and anomalies
  • Design and develop subject-oriented Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting data marts
  • Create dimensional fact and dimension models for analytics and reporting, including ER diagrams
  • Use Oracle, Netezza, and cloud data warehouse platforms
  • Tune queries and data structures to improve performance and scalability
  • Establish control totals, validation rules, and exception-handling processes
  • Maintain table- and column-level lineage from source systems through reporting outputs
  • Support integration with lineage and governance platforms including MANTA and Collibra
  • Apply data governance policies and regulatory standards such as BCBS 239 and SOX
  • Maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and transformation records
  • Partner with data engineers, architects, and business users
  • Contribute to Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, UAT, and defect management
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and sign-off for data mart releases
  • Connect business stakeholders with technical delivery teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Five to eight years of experience in banking data, data warehousing, or data engineering
  • Strong command of banking data domains, including Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting
  • Expertise in data warehouse and data mart design using star or snowflake schemas
  • Advanced SQL capability, including query optimization and performance tuning in TOAD or similar tools
  • Practical experience with ETL or ELT tools such as Informatica
  • Experience with Oracle, Netezza, or comparable database platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data reconciliation, controls, and validation frameworks
  • Familiarity with data lineage and governance practices
  • Understanding of file-based and API-based data integration
  • Exposure to BCBS 239, CCAR, Basel, or other regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with cloud data platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
