Director of Strategic Affairs, Business and Government – Remote (United States)
Lead North American education technology policy and government go-to-market strategy at Instructure. Connect policymakers, customers, partners, and internal teams to support revenue growth and product strategy.

- Co-lead Government Affairs and go-to-market strategy for Instructure’s North American Business and Government organization
- Develop statewide opportunity pipelines by connecting education and workforce funding sources with Canvas, Mastery, and Parchment solutions
- Monitor legislation and regulatory developments affecting education and technology
- Deliver practical policy and market guidance to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams
- Cultivate relationships with policymakers, agency executives, and education associations
- Represent Instructure at public events and forums
- Oversee external advocacy providers, including lobbying firms
- Define partner commitments, evaluate performance, and link expenditures to measurable outcomes
- Manage a strategic partnership with a mission-oriented edtech company supporting justice-involved learners
- Guide procurement planning across cooperative contracts and other purchasing channels
- Counsel senior customer stakeholders on digital transformation, workforce skills, and technology adoption
- Show how policy expertise and government engagement contribute to revenue, market expansion, and customer outcomes
- Support international public policy initiatives and strengthen Instructure’s global presence
- Keep sales and delivery operations efficient
- Report to the Vice President of Strategic Affairs
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least five years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or public-sector sales
- Demonstrated success meeting revenue or pipeline goals
- Experience partnering with C-suite executives and senior leaders across public and private organizations
- Deep knowledge of education and workforce funding programs, including ESSA, Perkins V, and Workforce Pell
- Strong analytical capability
- Skill in translating policy and market intelligence into clear recommendations
- Excellent written and spoken communication
- Availability to travel when required
- Background in K-12, higher education, or workforce development is preferred
- Experience overseeing lobbyists or external policy advisers is preferred
- Experience operating in international policy environments is preferred
- Successful completion of a background check is required for all employees
