Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster - Phoenix, AZ Hybrid

Manage complex Arizona workers’ compensation claims for CCMSI, a third-party risk administrator. The role covers investigation, evaluation, negotiation, payment, and resolution for a municipal client.

Description

  • Investigate and adjust Arizona workers’ compensation claims
  • Set reserves and recommend adjustments within authorized limits
  • Review, approve, or oversee medical, legal, damage, and miscellaneous invoices
  • Resolve disputed bills and invoices through negotiation
  • Authorize and issue claim payments through the designated payment system
  • Negotiate settlements in line with company standards, client direction, and state law
  • Select, refer, and oversee claim files assigned to external vendors
  • Evaluate and track subrogation claims
  • Maintain accurate claim-system diary entries
  • Produce reports covering claim status, payments, and reserves
  • Calculate disability rates according to applicable state requirements
  • Coordinate claim communications with clients, claimants, and other involved parties
  • Notify excess and reinsurance carriers about qualifying claims
  • Manage complex claims with limited supervision
  • Lead claim reviews and training sessions for designated clients
  • Participate in hearings, mediations, and informal legal conferences
  • Follow company claim-handling standards and client instructions
  • Help maintain client satisfaction

Requirements

  • At least five years of workers’ compensation claims experience
  • Active Arizona Adjuster Authorization, including ICA AZ Adjuster Authorization
  • Experience handling Arizona claims
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setting with onsite training and periodic office attendance
  • Experience with municipal or public-sector accounts is preferred
  • Spanish proficiency is highly valued but not required
  • CCMSI does not offer visa sponsorship for this position
