Technology Director, Consumer Lending Data

Wells Fargo seeks a Technology Director to lead consumer lending data strategy and modernization. The role oversees Authorized Data Source platform delivery, cloud migration, risk controls, and a global engineering organization of more than 100 people.

Description

  • Own the strategy, delivery, and modernization of the Cards and Unsecured Lending Data ecosystem
  • Develop the next-generation Authorized Data Source (ADS) platform
  • Lead cloud migration initiatives supporting consumer data products
  • Manage and develop a global team of engineering managers and technical leads
  • Set and deliver the strategic roadmap for ADS and cloud modernization
  • Partner with senior business and technology leaders on priorities, investment decisions, and long-term data platform strategy
  • Deliver critical commitments aligned with enterprise priorities and regulatory expectations
  • Establish practical roadmaps and maintain disciplined execution across multiple programs
  • Advance engineering quality, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee secure, resilient, and scalable data solutions built internally and with third-party providers
  • Collaborate with Architecture and CTO teams on CBL application migration and cloud or data center exit planning
  • Establish risk management standards and uphold data governance, security, availability, and resilience controls
  • Support risk initiatives and remediation efforts
  • Manage a technology portfolio exceeding $20 million and optimize resources across global teams of more than 100 people
  • Lead workforce planning, talent strategy, and recruitment
  • Influence business leaders, data partners, architects, and technology executives to drive adoption of target-state data platforms
  • Lead teams in delivering measurable enterprise transformation results

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of technology strategic leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work, training, military service, or education
  • At least 4 years of management or leadership experience
  • At least 5 years of financial industry experience, particularly in consumer banking and consumer lending products
  • At least 4 years of product management experience
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience with data strategy, data migration, and enterprise data modernization initiatives
  • At least 4 years of experience with cloud technologies, including a solid understanding of generative AI
  • At least 3 years of experience with robust data governance, including implementation using a governance tool
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and executing major strategies for robust, scalable solution delivery
  • Ability to work effectively with partners in a multicultural, matrixed environment
  • Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies, and goals
