  • Own reliability engineering for integrated humanoid drive systems and robotic actuation assemblies
  • Collaborate with mechatronics, controls, embedded software, and manufacturing teams
  • Apply Design for Reliability practices to complex mechatronic systems
  • Define reliability targets, duty-cycle profiles, and environmental and mechanical stress criteria
  • Assess how control algorithms, dynamic braking, overload torque, and thermal throttling affect reliability
  • Design, build, and run multi-axis accelerated stress-testing systems
  • Perform HALT, HASS, dynamic load cycling, thermal shock, vibration, and ingress-protection validation
  • Create test rigs that reproduce real-world humanoid duty cycles
  • Use statistical reliability methods and multiphysics degradation models to forecast drive-system life
  • Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations into complex mechatronic failures
  • Convert field telemetry, torque and temperature logs, and test-bench failure data into design improvements

Requirements

  • At least 5–8 years of reliability engineering experience with complex hardware systems
  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or another high-reliability industry is strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of mechatronic systems combining mechanical structures, electronics, actuators, sensors, and control hardware
  • Experience with Design for Reliability, DFMEA/FMEA, accelerated-life testing, reliability demonstration, reliability growth, component derating, and physics-of-failure analysis
  • Experience developing or performing environmental and durability testing, including vibration, thermal cycling, mechanical fatigue, humidity, HALT, or accelerated endurance testing
  • Familiarity with Weibull analysis, success-run testing, confidence bounds, and accelerated-life modeling
  • Working knowledge of Coffin–Manson, stress-life, strain-life, Miner’s rule, or comparable fatigue and life-prediction methods
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical failure mechanisms
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, test results, material specifications, and supplier qualification reports
  • Experience with reliability, statistical, simulation, and engineering analysis tools
  • Ability to evaluate life data, accelerated-test results, failure distributions, and reliability-growth trends
  • Experience applying physics-based simulation or analytical methods to mechanical, thermal, vibration, fatigue, or electronics reliability risks
  • Ability to learn and use new reliability and engineering software effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to connect observed failures and test results with their underlying physical failure mechanisms
  • Ability to independently develop reliability analyses and validation strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain reliability risk, uncertainty, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Effective collaboration with mechanical, electrical, systems, test, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced product-development environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline
