Senior Project Manager, Power Engineering Consulting

Lead consulting, design, due diligence, and economic analysis for Sargent & Lundy power projects. Oversee engineering teams, budgets, contracts, and client deliverables.

Description

  • Guide development support, conceptual design, owner’s engineering, and due diligence services.
  • Assess electric power generation projects and facilities.
  • Lead project economic and cost analyses, risk assessments, and contract development.
  • Prepare proposals for consulting engagements.
  • Create project execution plans tailored to client needs.
  • Direct project teams and communicate technical approaches and instructions.
  • Track project hours and work against budgets and scope.
  • Review reports, studies, and other deliverables.
  • Manage several projects at once while maintaining quality.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites and client offices in the United States or internationally.
  • Meet in person with power project developers, utilities, investors, legal advisors, and financial institutions.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-accredited program.
  • Have a strong academic record.
  • Bring at least 15 years of power industry experience.
  • Have owner’s engineer and/or design engineer experience supporting the development and execution of power generation projects, including thermal generation.
  • Have experience managing engineering teams.
  • Have experience conducting power project feasibility studies.
  • Speak Spanish fluently and participate in technical, engineering, and commercial discussions.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Experience with project contracts, including power purchase agreements, asset transfer agreements, and EPC contracts, is preferred.
  • Experience in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews for power projects is preferred.
  • A general understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is preferred.
  • A general understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities is preferred.
  • Experience in economic and cost analysis and contract development is preferred.
