Senior IT Auditor – Tempe Hybrid

Lead technology, cybersecurity, governance, and operational audits for Northern Trust’s wealth management and banking services. Assess IT controls, guide audit teams, and present findings to management.

Description

  • Perform and document audits across the Corporation
  • Lead audit engagements and oversee audit team members
  • Present engagement results to management
  • Provide auditors with cybersecurity expertise and technical training
  • Partner with Audit Managers to confirm scope and develop testing approaches
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Deliver audit training, coaching, and subject matter expertise
  • Assess technology risks and associated internal controls
  • Plan and lead IT audits covering technology, cybersecurity, governance, and operations
  • Define risk-based audit scope, objectives, schedules, and resource needs
  • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT processes and controls
  • Collaborate with audit teams and subject matter specialists
  • Review workpapers and supporting documentation for quality and adherence to audit standards
  • Report audit status, results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and Audit Services management
  • Keep technical and audit expertise current through continuing professional development

Requirements

  • At least 4–5 years of experience in IT audit, technology risk, or a related systems field
  • Strong command of IT audit methods, technology and cybersecurity risks, internal controls, and relevant standards
  • Ability to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT, application, security, and technology controls
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, data, cloud technologies, and technology governance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and business judgment abilities
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with varied stakeholders and work independently or within a team
  • Relevant certification such as CISA, CISSP, or an equivalent credential preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship
