Senior Business Analyst, Data and Enterprise Processes

Lead enterprise data processes, lineage, quality, and requirements across World Vision Canada’s fundraising, finance, program delivery, and workforce operations. Partner with senior leaders and technical teams to improve data integrity, governance, and system-to-system exchange.

Description

  • Own the end-to-end business process and information perspective across fundraising, finance, program delivery, and workforce functions.
  • Partner with senior leaders to understand business challenges, evaluate options, and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of data, tools, and processes while identifying integrity risks and recommending responses.
  • Investigate and profile data across CRM, data warehouse, finance, workforce, program delivery, and other operational systems.
  • Resolve discrepancies between data sources and define authoritative system meanings.
  • Trace and document data lineage, transformations, and points where definitions differ.
  • Gather business requirements, definitions, rules, acceptance criteria, and source expectations.
  • Translate business needs into precise, implementable requirements and backlog items with full traceability.
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of competing definitions and obtain approval from accountable business owners.
  • Document data contracts covering fields, formats, rules, and expectations for exchanges between systems.
  • Establish data product quality standards, validation rules, measurable outcomes, and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect on architectural decisions while retaining ownership of business definitions and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, engineering, science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Business analysis certification such as CBAP or CCBA, or equivalent formal training, is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of business or systems analysis experience, including significant work on data-focused initiatives such as reporting, migration, integration, or analytics.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing executive audiences on enterprise initiatives, including defining problems and recommending options.
  • Experience delivering large-scale organizational transformation programs.
  • Experience spanning multiple functions, such as fundraising, finance, program delivery, or workforce, with the ability to connect processes end to end.
  • Experience working with delivery vendors in distributed environments, including remote and offshore teams.
  • Experience producing data analysis and requirements artefacts such as source-to-target mappings, lineage records, data definitions, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Agile frameworks.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, regulated, or privacy-sensitive data environment is preferred.
  • Working proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or comparable languages for data profiling, validation, and analysis.
  • Proven ability to trace data lineage and perform source-to-target analysis across multiple enterprise systems.
  • Experience analyzing and modeling business processes, including current-state and target-state designs across functions.
  • Proficiency with requirements, process-modeling, and traceability tools.
  • Practical experience preparing and specifying data for AI and machine-learning use cases, including structure, quality, lineage, and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency with modeling notations and tools for creating models and diagrams.
  • Understanding of data products and data contracts, including product definitions and rules for system-to-system data exchange, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern data platform concepts and the data needs of analytical and AI workloads is preferred.
  • Comfort applying AI tools to analysis and optimization workflows, such as accelerating data profiling, documentation, and synthesis, is preferred.
